More than just an LA:Ao ratio...
There is so much more to an echocardiogram than an LA:Ao ratio - and so many times an LA:Ao ratio does not tell the true story!
When we perform an echocardiogram, we are not just box-ticking and 'going through the motions.'
We implement cutting-edge, evidence-based technologies from our own peer-reviewed research, in order to assist us in obtaining the most trustworthy, reproducible measurements possible.
Our purpose-built reporting software alerts us during the scan to any measurements with an unacceptably wide confidence interval, so that the echocardiographer can obtain additional images.
The echocardiographer will review all of the images at the end of the study, and perform measurements for over 30 parameters.
Our results then go through a third layer of scrutiny when they are checked by a board certified cardiologist, who will exclude any measurements that do not fit with the overall picture, before typing up a final report for you.
Our evidence-based AI generates confidence intervals for our measurements, alerting us when we need to obtain more measurements for greater certainty..
Our echocardiograms assess the left and right heart and valves from right- and left-sided views.
Our lab is equipped with some of the UK's best ultrasound equipment and range of transducers, to suit patients of any size and body condition.
Every single study is reviewed, reported and signed off by a board certified cardiologist, who is available to talk you through our findings.
Can you perform mobile echocardiography?
We strongly encourage referral to our echo lab in Bromley. This gives your patient access to the best possible equipment, frees up your resources (personnel, rooms and equipment), and keeps your costs down.
However, we know there are some situations where your patient is not well or stable enough to be seen outside of the clinical environment, or whose temperament means that sedation is necessary.
We can travel to your practice anywhere in the UK (for an additional fee) to scan:
If you patient cannot travel to Southeast London, we can arrange a scan at your practice.
