What is Quantum?

Most veterinarians worldwide report their echocardiograms by writing a couple of lines directly into the patient's record, commenting on the size of the left atrium, and perhaps a cat's wall thickness or the appearance of a dog's mitral valve. This is because they are performing all of their measurements manually, and then having to free type that into another platform, without structure, support or guidance.

Echocardiography reporting software does exist, but has been the exclusive domain of centres who can afford £10,000/user/year licenses for software like GE EchoPac (not to mention a very expensive machine to pair with it). Even then, they are repurposing software which has been developed for humans, not dogs and cats.

Quantum is the first vendor-neutral echocardiography reporting software which has been built for veterinarians, and in large part, by veterinarians. Users are assisted by artificial intelligence which has been trained by veterinary cardiologists, and we have openly published our methodology in JVIM. It guides veterinarians through the reporting process, performing key measurements for the user to review, and displaying the appropriate images for each reporting section. The end result is a thorough, quantitative echo report that you can be proud of.

Quantum open ups a revenue source for independent vets, so they can charge confidently and fairly for performing an echocardiogram. All you need to use Quantum in your clinic is:

  • An ultrasound machine that can save images in DICOM format
  • An internet connection
